Stellantis and Dongfeng Form Electric Vehicle Partnership in Europe

Automotive giant Stellantis and Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng have established a strategic partnership for the production and sale of electric vehicles (EVs) in the European market. Under the agreement, the two companies aim to develop and manufacture low-cost electric vehicles in Europe. This collaboration is seen as part of Stellantis' strategy to expand its EV portfolio and accelerate Dongfeng's entry into Europe. The partnership will leverage Stellantis' existing production facilities while combining Dongfeng's battery technology and cost advantages. Initially, models intended for sale in Europe are planned to launch by 2025. This move aims to enhance the companies' competitiveness in line with the European Union's goal to ban sales of internal combustion engine vehicles by 2035. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares stated that the partnership will contribute to the vision of 'making electric mobility more accessible.'
