Italy Orders €1.39 Billion Airbus Tanker Aircraft

Italy has signed a major agreement with Airbus Defence and Space to strengthen the logistical and operational capabilities of its air force. The deal covers the procurement of six A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, with a total contract value of €1.39 billion. This strategic order is seen as part of Italy's goal to enhance its air power projection and gain flexibility in critical missions such as aerial refueling and cargo transport. The A330 MRTT stands out as a versatile platform, capable of both in-flight refueling and transporting military personnel and equipment. For Airbus Defence and Space, this order represents a significant gain in expanding its defense portfolio.
