Robinhood Acquires WonderFi for 250 Million Canadian Dollars

The acquisition is seen as part of Robinhood's international expansion strategy. Under the deal, Robinhood will purchase all shares of WonderFi for cash. WonderFi operates as a regulated cryptocurrency exchange in Canada, and this acquisition will provide Robinhood with direct access to the Canadian market. Robinhood's CEO stated that the acquisition is part of the company's goal to expand its cryptocurrency services and better serve users in Canada. It was noted that WonderFi's current management team will remain with the company after the acquisition.
