Ford Otosan and İş Bankası subsidiaries launch $50 million mobility fund
Ford Otosan subsidiary Gembox Teknoloji Girişimleri AŞ and Türkiye İş Bankası subsidiary Maxis Girişim Sermayesi Portföy Yönetim Şirketi have established the "Future of Mobility Venture Capital Investment Fund." The fund aims to enhance the global competitiveness of the mobility ecosystem and support technology startups. Details of the fund were announced at an event held in Istanbul.
Ford Otosan General Manager Güven Özyurt highlighted the importance of maintaining industrial competitiveness in the European market, stating that positioning Turkey as an ecosystem player that develops, produces, and offers flexible solutions in collaboration with Europe is a strategic necessity. Özyurt noted that the fund aims not only to provide capital but also to create a reliable platform for OEMs, suppliers, strategic investors, and startups.
Gembox Teknoloji Girişimleri AŞ General Manager İlknur İlkyaz Gül emphasized that as Ford Otosan and Driventure, they have achieved many firsts in the fields of industry, R&D, and technology entrepreneurship. Maxis Girişim Sermayesi Portföy Yönetimi AŞ General Manager Özgür Temel stated that they continue to develop high-impact business partnerships beyond being a standard portfolio management company.
The fund's primary investment focuses include mobility technologies, automotive, Industry 4.0, sustainability, customer experience, data, artificial intelligence, connected services, energy management, charging solutions, battery, and manufacturing technologies. The Future of Mobility Venture Capital Investment Fund will launch with a minimum target size of $50 million in its initial phase.
