Schroders to Sell Financial Planning Unit for Over £200 Million

UK-based asset manager Schroders is nearing the sale of its financial planning arm, Benchmark Capital, to Swedish firm Söderberg & Partners for over £200 million. The sale process is progressing and the deal could be completed shortly. Benchmark Capital, a financial advisory platform, was acquired by Schroders in 2020. The divestiture is part of Schroders' strategy to restructure its portfolio and focus on core business areas, aiming to use capital more efficiently and invest in growth opportunities. Söderberg & Partners, a leading financial services provider in Scandinavia, seeks to strengthen its presence in the UK market through this acquisition. Upon completion, Benchmark Capital's client base and operations will be integrated into Söderberg & Partners. The proceeds from the sale will bolster Schroders' balance sheet and may be directed toward new investment opportunities.
