IMECE and ASELSAN Projects Included in NATO Space Architecture

At the NATO Ankara Summit, new projects and collaborations in space and surveillance with a total value exceeding $4 billion were announced. Within this scope, the IMECE-2 and IMECE-3 satellites developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY and ASELSAN's low Earth orbit (LEO) secure communication network projects will be part of NATO's new technology architecture. The projects aim to strengthen the alliance's space-based surveillance and communication capabilities. The IMECE series satellites will be used for high-resolution imaging and reconnaissance missions, while ASELSAN's LEO communication network will provide secure and uninterrupted data transmission. This development reinforces Turkey's competence in space technologies on the international platform while increasing the role of defense industry companies in global projects.
