Tonguç Erbaş: Foreign Disinterest Leads to Unrealistic Pricing in Borsa Istanbul

Tonguç Erbaş, Strategy Director at Ahlatcı Holding, stated that foreign investors' withdrawal from Turkish equities has led to unrealistic pricing in the market. Speaking on the program 'Paranın İzinde' broadcast on Nasıl Bir Ekonomi TV, Erbaş warned against the threat of international index providers downgrading Turkey to a lower tier. Erbaş noted that the high liquidity drawn from the market by initial public offerings and global risks originating from Japan are putting pressure on Borsa Istanbul. He said the decline in foreign interest negatively impacts the overall performance of the index but could create opportunities in certain stocks. The strategy director emphasized that investors should focus on stock-specific strategies rather than the overall index during this period.
