Australia’s financial regulator ASIC determined that Deutsche Bank had incorrectly reported more than 260,000 over‑the‑counter (OTC) derivative transactions, resulting in a fine of 2 million Australian dollars. The penalty was imposed because the bank failed to meet the legal reporting requirements for those transactions. OTC derivatives are non‑standardised, non‑exchange‑traded financial instruments, and therefore fall under extensive regulatory scrutiny.
