TSMC Posts Record Revenue in Q2 on AI Demand

Taiwan-based semiconductor manufacturer TSMC achieved an all-time high revenue in the second quarter of this year, driven by strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips. The company's financial results show that increasing orders, particularly for AI-focused processors, boosted revenues. TSMC's second-quarter revenue rose significantly compared to the same period last year, reaching a record level. This growth was fueled by demand for high-performance AI chips used in cloud computing and data centers, as well as a recovery in the smartphone and other consumer electronics segments. The company noted that the share of AI-related products in its revenue is increasing and expects this trend to continue in the coming period. TSMC's advanced manufacturing technologies, especially its 3-nanometer and 5-nanometer processes, are in high demand from AI chip makers.
