BOTAŞ Expands Capacity at Marmaraereğlisi LNG Terminal

BOTAŞ has initiated efforts to expand the storage capacity of the Marmaraereğlisi Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Tekirdağ province. The company has commenced construction of a new LNG storage tank with a volume of 160,000 cubic meters. This investment aims to strengthen the terminal's existing infrastructure and enhance natural gas supply security. With the commissioning of the new tank, the total storage capacity of the Marmaraereğlisi Terminal will increase significantly. This will help meet rising natural gas demand, particularly during winter months, and create a buffer against potential supply disruptions. BOTAŞ's strategic investment is considered a critical step in modernizing and diversifying Turkey's energy infrastructure. The technologies and construction processes used in the project will comply with international standards. BOTAŞ officials state that after the tank is completed, the terminal's operational efficiency will improve, allowing it to play a more active role in regional energy trade.
