Electra Orders 250 Turbogenerators from Safran

Electra has signed a supply agreement with Safran for 250 turbogenerators for its hybrid-electric aircraft, the EL9. Under the agreement, Safran will supply generators to power the hybrid-electric propulsion system developed by Electra. These turbogenerators aim to enhance range and efficiency by providing energy to the aircraft's electric motors. Electra's EL9 model is a hybrid-electric aircraft designed for short-haul flights with a capacity of nine passengers. The company plans to increase production capacity and complete the certification process by 2028 through this agreement. Safran, meanwhile, is expanding its production lines to meet the growing demand for electrification solutions in aviation. Safran's turbogenerators promise lower emissions and fuel consumption compared to conventional fuel-powered engines. Electra aims to reduce operating costs by up to 40% with this technology.
