1,700 Chinese Workers to Arrive at Stellantis-CATL Battery Plant in Spain

While the plan initially called for an average of 1,000 Chinese workers at the site, the start of production has been delayed to the first months of 2027. The facility, being built under the joint venture in Spain, aims to boost Europe's electric vehicle battery production capacity. Stellantis intends to strengthen its battery supply chain in Europe through this investment. The arrival of Chinese workers has sparked debates over local employment and labor dynamics.
