Joby Aviation to Acquire Resonant Sciences for $500 Million

Joby Aviation, a developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has announced that it will acquire Resonant Sciences, a company operating in the defense technology sector, for $500 million. This strategic move aims to make a strong entry into the defense market as the company's commercial air taxi projects have been progressing slowly due to lengthy development periods. Under the agreement, hybrid and autonomous VTOL projects will be consolidated under the Resonant umbrella. This will enable Joby to pursue its commercial air taxi vision in a more focused manner.
