Borsa Istanbul Imposes Short Selling and Margin Trading Ban on 3 Stocks
Borsa Istanbul announced new measures for three stocks under the Volatility-Based Measure System (VBTS). A short selling and margin trading ban has been imposed on CITAS, CATES, and SELEC shares.
The ban will start on September 15 and last until the end of the session on October 14, 2026. During this period, short selling and margin trading will not be allowed on the relevant shares.
VBTS is a measure mechanism implemented by Borsa Istanbul to control unusual price and volume movements. Such bans aim to protect investors against excessive volatility.

📊 SELEC — Piyasa Yorumu
▼ down · 60%Borsa Istanbul's imposition of a short-selling and margin trading ban on SELEC stock could increase selling pressure in the short term. The stock has already fallen 10% in the last 24 hours and is in oversold territory with an RSI of 17; however, the ban may reduce leveraged buying appetite and delay a recovery. MACD is negative and the price is below the SMA20 and SMA50, indicating a weak technical outlook. Nevertheless, oversold conditions increase the likelihood of a sharp rebound, so confidence in further downside is limited. A volatile and downward-trending course is expected in the short term.
