Bayraktar: YEKA GES-2026 allocates 2,285 megawatts of capacity
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Bayraktar announced that under the YEKA GES-2026 framework, a total capacity allocation of 2,285 megawatts was carried out in wind and solar energy tenders held for 18 separate sites.
Minister Bayraktar stated that the capacity allocation will contribute to the country's energy supply security and noted that this will prevent annual natural gas imports of 1 billion 220 million cubic meters.
According to the statement, increasing renewable energy capacity directly serves the goal of reducing dependence on natural gas imports. The capacity allocated under the YEKA GES-2026 tenders, together with projects to be commissioned in the coming period, is expected to raise the share of domestic and renewable resources in energy supply.
