Greek Press: KIZILELMA Poses 'Lethal Threat' to Greek Air Defense

Greece-based Pentapostagma has extensively covered the first live-fire tests of Turkey's unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which successfully struck targets using internal weapons bay with real munitions. The analysis commented that this development poses a 'lethal threat' to Greek air defense. The report noted that during tests at Baykar's Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu, KIZILELMA conducted successful firings using Roketsan-produced TEBER-82 and Aselsan-produced TOLUN-P munitions from its internal weapons bay. This capability confirms the platform's ability to conduct precision strikes while maintaining a low radar signature. Pentapostagma cited Baykar's statement: 'Thanks to its internal weapons bay, KIZILELMA will be able to penetrate deep into enemy territory and conduct attacks using indigenous munitions while maintaining a low radar signature.' The internal carriage feature was emphasized as enabling the aircraft to operate more effectively in areas with dense air defense coverage. The analysis used the phrase 'Turkey is feverishly preparing for a military conflict with Greece' and suggested that the 'peace hourglass in the Aegean is running out.' It also argued that the test firings from KIZILELMA's internal weapons bay enhance its ability to penetrate deep into protected airspace, without affecting the aircraft's radar cross-section, speed, or aerodynamic performance. The report recalled that KIZILELMA had previously conducted tests with the Gökdoğan air-to-air missile, as well as TOLUN, TEBER-82, KGK, and LGK-82 munitions, in addition to the JET-230 hypersonic missile. It noted that on November 29, 2025, the platform became the first unmanned combat aircraft to destroy a jet-powered aerial target off the coast of Sinop using the Gökdoğan beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE. Pentapostagma assessed that these tests accelerate Turkey's munition integration process and will significantly enhance KIZILELMA's future capability to operate in areas with dense air defense.
